no excuses

though I'm still hopped up on benadryl (aka my lifesaver) I have officially put away the wet clothes, migraine meds, and eucalyptus oil. I'm feeling super behind on fashion week so, lucky you, I will be doing several entries this evening. this will be followed by me truly updating this thing daily. so hold on to your hats people, it's going to be a long night of catching up on all things fashion.

side note: remember that project I was working on a little while back? probably not. I think I'm almost done though so I will be sharing with all of you for opinions and such.

it's the most wonderful time of the year!

fashion week has officially kicked off in New York, and while I usually reserve catchy jingles for Christmas time and cold weather, nothing gets me quite as hyped as a good runway show. due to unforeseeable circumstances (ie baby fever at the office) I was not able to make it to fashion week this season. so, instead of drowning my misery with a bottle {box} of pinot grigio and a back issue of Vogue, I will be keeping up with all the shows from the comfort of my living room. first up...BCBG Max Azria. this season his looks, while cohesive, play with lots of different hemlines, necklines, and patterns and I am loving it! a year ago I would've worn hammer pants and Crocs before I would've even thought about a one shoulder top, but this year I'm totally digging them.

tomorrow Charlotte Ronson, Jason Wu, Phillip Lim, Rag and Bone, and Nicole Miller. can we say pyched?!

dude, that's sick

what is that? that is me. I'm not one to throw in the towel and start bitching and moaning about a runny nose but allergies are kicking my ass. I've been gloating all year about my sudden immunity to allergies, yet here I am...karma's a bitch. ladies and gents please bear with me. I promise I will start posting again tomorrow. 

my mom has made it quite clear that I'd better get my butt into gear and start sending some entertainment her way...

baby it's cold outside

assuming the weather in Austin ever drops below 100+ degrees, I am dying to get my hands on fall must have #2 (ok #2 and #3  but similar categories so I'm combining): vests and peplum jackets. I have endless theories on fashion one of which is that a girl can never have too many jackets. I myself have a closet full of fabulous (some of which are far too thick to ever wear in this city) coats that rarely make it out save for a few "ice" days and of course NY vacays. this season's peplum jackets are insanely chic and are absolutely something I need several of. I use the word "need" a lot, but never loosely. I need all of these things. obviously. and vests, well vests I just like in general for any season so I figured they could piggy back on the jackets.

since fashion week is upon us (just a few short weeks away!) I've decided that I will be sharing my fall must haves with you all. I'm dying to see what the forecast for spring 2010 is, but for now I'm searching for some great fall staples for my wardrobe. one thing I simply can't live with out this fall is studs. I want them...on everything. here are a few accessories that I've been lusting after:

the Botkier "studio" clutch is the perfect accessory for a night out. I love love love Botkier in general, but this super soft leather envelope bag is one of my faves.  and best of all, at $98 it really won't break the bank. It's a great staple that you can use a million times over.

ladies meet the Alexander Wang "Coco" mini duffle. she's soft with a bit of an edge and definitely a bag you want to have for fall. any fashionista planning on carrying this baby better start saving now because it carries a hefty price tag; $895 to be exact. is she worth it? totally.

I have a little project in the works and assuming it works out, (theres a 50/50 chance really) I will most definitely be sharing it here. stay tuned....

ok, so her catch phrases are immensely annoying and her staff overly dramatic...but...I'm psyched about the new season of The Rachel Zoe Project!! I mean, come on, the woman has impeccable taste. the new season starts august 24th and of course I will be watching. 

don't judge me. we all have our vices. 

I think I love you

I'll admit...I've never been the biggest fan of J Crew (I'll pause for the collective gasp). however, and this is where I hope to redeem myself, I am falling in love with their fall fashion. that being said, I probably won't be dropping nearly $100 on these tops I do plan on utilizing all upcoming sales to snag a few of these gems.

this petal top paired with a pencil skirt and a cardigan? tres chic!

long cardigans are definitely at the top of my list of must haves for fall.

I'm hoping for one of two things: major sales at J Crew...or....random out of nowhere bonus at work?. probable? no. but a girl can dream.
